- 1. Why Can't I Find the AI Assistant Icon?
There are several reasons why you cannot find the AI Assistant Icon. Here are all of them.
* 1\. You may not know where the AI Assistant icon is. You can follow these steps to find the icon: open one PDF file on AI PDF Reader, then navigate to the right bottom menu, and click on the AI Assistant icon to open it; For iOS and Android users, open AI PDF Reader, and you'll find AI PDF Reader AI in the center of the bottom toolbar.
* 2\. If you have AI PDF Reader in the old version: older than 1.6.3 for Mac and 1.6.5 for Windows, you cannot find the AI Assistant icon. If you are in the old versions, you can click "Help" > "Check for Updates" to update your AI PDF Reader to get the AI Assistant features.
- 2. How to Upload Another PDF File in Asking Mode in AI Assistant?
If you're using the AI Assistant within the AI PDF Reader app, you can't directly upload a new PDF in Ask PDF mode—it only analyzes the currently open PDF. To switch PDFs, close the current one, open the new PDF, then click the "AI Assistant" icon, select "Ask PDF," and click "Get Started" to upload and analyze it.
However, for the online version, you can upload another PDF directly by clicking the "+" icon in the top-left corner.
- 3. Can I summarize, translate, or chat with multiple PDFs at once?
Yes, but multi-file chat is only available in the AI Assistant Online. This feature allows you to chat with multiple PDFs by creating collections.
The AI assistant in AI PDF Reader for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android does not currently support multi-file chat. However, on desktop versions, you can use the batch combine feature to merge multiple PDFs into a single file and chat with the combined document to achieve similar results.
- 4. Why Am I in Free Trial Version for AI Assistant When I Already Bought AI PDF Reader Pro?
AI Assistant is not included in the AI PDF Reader Pro Plan. That is why you are in the free trial version of AI Assistant when you already have AI PDF Reader Pro. If you need to use AI Assistant Pro, you need to upgrade to AI Assistant Pro.
- 5. Will AI Assistant Still be Charged Annually if I Buy a Lifetime AI PDF Reader with AI?
If you buy a lifetime AI PDF Reader and the AI Assistant Pro with an Annual plan, you will be charged annually for AI Assistant.

- 7. What Are the Differences Between Chat Mode and Ask PDF Mode?
Chat mode allows you to ask anything, while Ask PDF only answers the questions about the PDF you uploaded.
- 8. What are the AI Assistant limitations for the Free Trial Version?
If you are using AI Assistant free trial version, you can only upload 5 PDF files in Ask PDF mode. And the PDF file size is limited to 10MB for each one and each PDF can have at most 100 pages. And when you communicate with AI Assistant, you can only send 100 messages.

If your storage is full, you can delete some files from the AI PDF Reader Cloud to upload more PDF files again.
